About The Crux

The Crux, the BCMC’s newsletter, has existed in some form for over twenty years. For a long time, it was the main source of information regarding events like the Rock Program and the Ice Program. In addition, it was a great way for our community of climbers to share experiences, stories, photos and other climbing-related material. As years have passed, the website has taken a more prominent role in delivering information, and The Crux is now focusing mostly on trip reports, stories, images, and other climbing/mountaineering-inspired content. In addition, it also welcomes articles related to the climbing community at large, environmental issues, and other relevant topics.

As editor, I strongly urge anyone with something to share to please consider submitting to The Crux. This newsletter is YOUR place to post something meaningful to you, and to the rest of our climbing family. I believe it's a great way to keep us connected and to share information. In addition, this is the first time The Crux has gone to a digital format. Despite this being a break from tradition, there's much to be gained by being paperless. It's easier to share links and videos, and to display photographs in color. It also helps to reduce paper waste and, hopefully, to reach beyond just our immediate group of climbers.

In addition, any questions regarding submissions or concerns about any content or photos should be directed to crux@amcbostonclimbers.com.
