2022 Rock Program Schedule
Info Night (Optional)
Info Night will be held on Tuesday March 3rd from 7-8pm. This is an optional session that will introduce the program and give you a chance to ask any questions you might have. The session will also be webcast on Facebook if you can’t attend in person.
Knots night
Knots Night will be held on Tuesday March 22nd from 7-9pm. In the first half, we will go into detail about how the program works and what you need to do to complete the program. In the second half, we will go over the knots that you will need to know.
New Belayers Night (Optional)
New Belayers Night will be held on Thursday April 2nd from 7-9 pm. This is an optional session for any students who have no experience belaying, or would like to refresh their skills.
Program Weekends
There are five weekends, starting in early April and running through early May. To complete the program, students must attend five days of instruction. For the first weekend (Belay & Anchors weekend) both Saturday AND Sunday are required. There are three other required weekends, for which students may choose which day (Saturday OR Sunday) to attend. There is also an open climbing day at which students can practice skills, and a non-climbing social event.
Program weekends start at 8:15am. Each day of the program, students are split into small groups: generally six or fewer students, an instructor, and one or more assistants.

Crow Hill Climbing & Potluck BBQ (Saturday May 7th, rain date Sunday May 8th)
To celebrate the conclusion of the Rock Climbing Program, we have traditionally held a casual day of climbing and socializing with a potluck BBQ at Crow Hill.
Crow Hill is in the Leominster State Forest in Leominster, MA, about one hour west of Boston, and features many single-pitch trad climbs as well as toproping.
Post-program Events
These events are not part of the rock program, but we encourage graduates of the program to attend. Mark your calendars!
New Seconds Weekend (May 20th - 22nd)
An amazing weekend of multi-pitch trad climbing at the Shawangunks (a.k.a. "The Gunks"), open by invitation to graduates of the Rock Program. Located near New Paltz, NY, the Gunks are a major east coast climbing destination and have a storied history dating back to the 1930's.
Memorial Day Weekend at Acadia National Park (TBD)
Acadia National Park features fantastic climbing (usually toproping) on sea cliffs at Otter Cliff and also several other areas for trad climbing and toproping.
Rumney Weekend (TBD)
Come clip bolts with us for a weekend at one of the premier sport climbing destinations in the country: Rumney Rocks in New Hampshire’s White Mountain National Forest. There’s something for everyone, with hundreds of routes ranging from 5.0 all the way up to an intimidating 5.15a. There are also trad climbing opportunities nearby in case sport climbing isn’t your thing, including Kinsman Notch, Echo Crag, and the closest thing New England has to big wall climbing: Cannon Cliff.
