The AMC Boston Chapter Mountaineering Committee’s annual Ice Program is an immersive, 40-hour instructional program designed to teach waterfall ice climbing to students with outdoor rock climbing skills and winter sports experience. We focus on the equipment, techniques, and practices that are useful on the mountains and crags of New England as well as ice climbing areas worldwide.
The Ice Program consists of three mandatory lectures in Boston, and two hands-on weekends in the White Mountains of New Hampshire. Our program is 100% volunteer-run and offers new climbers the opportunity to meet and learn from our community of highly-experienced outdoor climbing enthusiasts.
It’s that time of year again! The Harvard Cabin Work Weekend is scheduled for November 2-3, 2019.
Many have enjoyed the convenience of the Harvard Cabin during open weekends or the Ice Program. This is a great time to give back to the Harvard Cabin to show our support.
Check out the event for more details! Looking forward to seeing a great turn out this year!

She sustained a traumatic spinal cord injury and is now paralyzed from her T4-T5 vertebrae down. The AMC Boston climbing community is supporting a medical fundraiser for Lizzy to help her afford the proper long - term rehabilitation she will need through this life-altering injury. Please consider donating to support her care, and check out the site to hear more about health updates:
